Hi Paul, Great site and web page. Can you please tell me why the SSN remains at 000 while on the NOAA report it is currently 4? All other parameters equate with each other. Many thanks.

Admin reply: OK Jim - I think I figured it out. This had to be close to the new 3-hour data coming out right?
OK - I cache the wwv and sgas data from NOAA on my server for 10 minutes - so I do not hit NOAA with every request (saves thousands of requests and keeps them off my back). I also cache the generated image for 10 minutes to save processing on my server (again keeps them off my back). So, as near as I can figure - you hit the server when the wwv info was updated and the sgas (I use that for X-ray which does not change that often and SSN) had not updated. This happens VERY rare, and only results in a less than 10 minute hole in current data! Let me know if this sounds reasonable.
